The paintings I consider most successful are the ones that have perfectly captured my illumined world. A visitor to one of my exhibitions described some of my work as 'reflections of a certain tranquility'. Like many others, I am immersed in the conflict between contemplation and the demands of daily living. But, in a luminous watercolour scene, the conflict can be stilled and this life appears serene. It is this serenity I hope to convey in my paintings.
